The Monroes

The series concerned the efforts of a group of brothers and sisters, whose parents had died, to survive as a family in the early days of the West.
The eldest brother and sister were played by Michael Anderson, Jr and Barbara Hershey.
Another short-lived series with the same title aired in fall 1995 on ABC. The plot centered around a political family modeled on the Kennedy family, and starred Susan Sullivan, William Devane, among others. As of May 2005 the series reran on the Soapnet cable channel.
The Monroes is also the name of a Norwegian rock music band.
