Political Geography
Talisay is strategically located in the north-central area of the province of Batangas, which is located southwest of the island Luzon, and is approximately 84 kilometers from Metro Manila (National Capital Region). It is bordered by the city of Tagaytay in the north, the municipality of Laurel to the west, the municipality of Tanauan to the east, and a vast volcanic lake called Taal Lake to the south.Currently, Talisay is comprised of an 8-zone poblacion, and 13 surrounding barangays. Traveling westward from the municipality of Tanauan and entering Talisay via the National Highway, you will reach the barangays as follows: Aya, Tranca (north of Aya), Quiling, Tumaway, then you will enter the bayan, or 8-zone poblacion, which is the heart of Talisay. Barangays west of the poblacion include San Guillermo, Banga, Buco, Sta. Maria, Sampaloc, Caloocan, Balas, Leynes and Miranda.
