The song
"Stronger" was written by constant supplier Max Martin, as well as Rami, and was produced by Martin. The video for the song, directed by Joseph Kahn, features an in-control Spears overcoming the difficulties of love as she proclaims she is "stronger than yesterday".
Chart success
"Stronger" had a considerable amount of success, peaking just outside the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 at #11, and becoming her first single to top the Hot 100 Singles Sales chart since "...Baby One More Time"; this eventually led the song to achieve a gold certification. Though the single's sales were very strong, the song had a less favorable run on the Top 40 Mainstream, managing only to go top 20.
Internationally, "Stronger" became Spears' first single to miss the top 5 in the UK, peaking at #7. Still, it should be noted that a top 10 single is generally considered a hit by many other artists' standards. The song peaked within the top 20 in Australia.
Charts
"Stronger" was Spears' second #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Sales
