Stroke count method
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
The
stroke count method is an
input method editor in which the user enters the total number of strokes of a
Chinese character, and chooses the desired character from a list that pops up. This method is sometimes used as a last resort when the user is unable to find the desired character by any other method.
It is not an efficient input method, as it often requires an exhaustive search. For example, there are more Chinese characters with 12 strokes than there are with any other number, so searching through a list of 12-stroke characters could take a long time.
