Splash Mountain
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
The attraction is based on the controversial Disney film Song of the South. The attraction does not feature anything that would be controversial like the film. Each Splash Mountain features a 52-and-a-half foot drop (the largest in the park) at a 45 degree angle into the Briar Patch. Splash Mountain was designed to include songs from Song of the South such as Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.

Story
The Premise is sort of like the animated segments of Song of the South, except with each segments cut and pasted throughout the ride. Basically, you're following the adventures of Brer Rabbit, a mischievous rabbit who leaves his home at the Briar Patch to look for his laughing place. But unfortunately for him, Brer Fox and Brer Bear, the antagonists of this story, are set out to catch him. But after Brer Rabbit outsmarts the two, he's finally caught and taken to Brer Fox's cave at Chickapin Hill. And before Brer Rabbit can outfox them one more time, you're now sent down the big drop, where at the end of the ride, a showboat and a lot of critters sing along to Zip-a-dee-doo-dah with happiness of his return.Attraction facts

Splash Mountain photos
One thing about the ride is that during the drop, your picture is taken, depicting everyone at the log. This has become very famous for a picture-taking ride. Other rides that do the same are Dinosaur and Test Track.Flashes
During the 52 1/2 foot plummet, a camera takes pictures of park guests, and this has been a source of controversy as female guests (or their friends) will often "flash" the camera exposing their breasts. While this in itself should not be a problem as Disney cast members usually discard the images, some have leaked onto the Internet, suggesting that some Disney cast members save them for personal use. The resulting controversy resulted in the ride getting the nickname "Flash Mountain".
