Shinzan

Shinzan(シンザン, 2 April 1961 - 13 July 1996) was a Japanese racehorse that won the Japanese Triple Crown.

Shinzan born on April 2, 1961 in Hokkaido Prefecture. He was a thoroughbred racehorse and Japanese Triple Crown champion in 1964. Shinzan won the Arima Kinen, Takaradukakinen, and Tennousyou Autumn, and was a champion horse in 1965 as well.

He was a successful sire in Japan. His most successful offspring was Mihoshinzan who won the Japanese 2000 Guineas, Japanese St. Leger, and Tennousyou Spring.

Shinzan died in Hokkaido on July 13, 1996 at the age of 35.
