Gen. Trias, Cavite
Its has a total land area of 11,768 hectares. Total population of approximately 100,000 as of December 1998. Before 1919 the name of the municipality was San Francisco de Malabon or simply called Malabon Grande to distinguish it from another Malabon town in Rizal province.
"Malabon" came from the word "Labong" (meaning bamboo shoot) groves in the locality. It was then a big municipality, for it once comprised Malabon proper, Tanza (formerly called Santa Cruz de Malabon and Rosario (formerly called as Tejero). Through the sponsorship of Emilio P. Virata, one of the prominent son of this town, the name General Trias, replacing the Commonwealth Act# 2889, which was published in the Official Gazette No.18 Series of May 5, 1920 in honor of the late Mariano Closas Trias.
General Trias consist of 16 barrios: Tejero, San Juan, Bacao, Navarro, Pasong Kalabaw or Santa Clara, Pasong Kamatsile or San Gabriel, Elang or Santiago, Manggang Bukol or Pinagtipunan, Tapia, Pasong Kawayan I and II,Camaren or Buenavista,Biclatan, Javalera and Manggahan. General Trias consist of 19 Street: 96th Street, Corregidor ,Sampalucan,Dulongbayan,Tarique, San Gabriel, Ronquillo, Vibora, Arnaldo, Andres Bonifacio,Prinza consist of Pritil or Salaan, Real Street or Gov. Luis Ferrer Ave, Bagumbayan consist of Gen. Trias St, Juan Luna, Mendoza,Sotto, Asercion and Andres Deseo St.
