Blot-Sweyn
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
In 1087, Ingold travelled with his housecarls through Smalandia and Ostrogothia, riding both day and night, until he arrived in Sweden. Having arrived at Old Uppsala, he surrounded the hall of Blot-Sweyn, and set the hall on fire. When the king ran out, he was immediately slain. This is probably the date of the destruction of the Temple at Uppsala.
Blot-Sven was the last pagan king of Sweden and his fall marks the final victory of the Christian faith in Sweden. Some regard him as he progenitor or the House of Sverker.
