DistributionThe genus is native to southern peninsular Malaysia, central Sumatra, southwestern Borneo as well as in the East Indies.DescriptionThese two species ressemble much Asian pipesnakes (family Cylindrophiidae). They lack both a chin groove and teeth on their pterygoid.TaxonomyThe genus Anomochilus was previously assigned to the subfamily Cylindrophiinae, of the family Uropeltidae.
