Glossary:

New Moon
Moon reaches the same geocentric ecliptic longitude as the Sun. Solar eclipses may take place, if knot passage takes place within about one day.
First Quarter
The Moon is 90° ahead of the Sun in geocentric ecliptic longitude.
Full Moon
The difference in geocentric ecliptic longitude among the Moon and the Sun is 180°. Lunar eclipses may take place, if knot passage is not too far away.
Last Quarter
Moon is 270° ahead of the Sun in geocentric ecliptic longitude.
Knot Passage
The object crosses the plain of the ecliptic. In the ascending node, the object crosses the plain while moving in direction north. About a half orbit later the object passes the descending node while moving south.
